Ring Size Guide
How to easily measure ring sizes at home
Ring Size Chart
Ring sizes can be a problem for many customers. But if you know the basics, it will be easier for you to get the right one. There are many different ways of determining ring sizes around the world. The British mark rings with letters, while the USA uses lower units of numbers. We at Mialis use European size markings, which refer to the millimeter width of the inner edges of the ring. These are numbered from 46 (diameter 14.6 mm) to 65 (diameter 20.7 mm). The most commonly purchased sizes for women's rings are 52 and 53, while for men it is 59 to 61.

Measuring your finger with a string
A string, a paper strip, or a special paper ring sizer are the best tools for this method. So choose one and get started!
- Lightly wrap one of the tools around the finger you want to wear the jewelry on.
- Make a mark where the string or paper crosses – so that it is on both parts.
- Then simply measure how far apart the marks are, and you will get the size of the jewelry in millimeters.
Trace the ring
If you have a ring that you know will definitely fit the future wearer, you can use it to determine the exact size.
- Take the ring, a piece of paper, and a sharp pencil.
- Trace the inner circumference of the ring on the paper.
- Measure the diameter of the circle you drew on the paper, or bring the drawing to our jewelry store.
Measuring rings as a top-secret mission
Do you want to surprise your loved one with an engagement ring, or are you looking for the perfect piece of jewelry as a gift? You need to be careful when searching for the right one. But don't worry, there are several discreet ways to find out her ring size without revealing anything.
Look at her jewelry collection and visit a jewelry store
If you are trying to buy a gift for a woman who has a full jewelry box at home, you are already halfway there.
- Find out which finger she wears jewelry on.
- Secretly borrow a ring from her jewelry box.
- Make an appointment at our jewelry store in Prague and come with the ring.
- The jeweler will then place her favorite piece on a mandrel and measure the exact size.
Borrow a ring from the jewelry box and feel free to measure it at home
Don't have time, jewelers are far away, do you prefer to shop online, or are you just afraid that your loved one will notice that her favorite ring is missing? In that case, explore the jewelry box and start measuring yourself.
- Measure the inner diameter of the ring.
- It is important that you measure the widest part, the diameter of the circle.
- Note the value in millimeters.
- When you are interested in a selected ring, choose the correct size according to the diameter of the circle you measured.
Photography as a great indicator
Not sure about her size and afraid you won't be accurate enough? Look in your loved one's jewelry box and find a ring you are sure she still wears.
- Place a transparent ruler on the ring.
- Take a photo of the jewelry with the ruler and send it to us.
- We will take care of the rest.
Try on the ring
If you have access to your wife's jewelry box, you can try on the ring yourself. There are even two ways.
-
On any finger
- Put the ring on your own finger.
- Don't push it all the way to the base of your finger. Try it in a position that is comfortable for you.
- Use a marker and make a dot under the ring and go to the jewelry store to try on the selected piece again on the same finger.
- If you put the ring just above the dot and feel that it fits you exactly, you have the right size.
-
On the little finger
- Try on the ring on your little finger.
- If it fits you well, we can measure the size of your finger and choose a women's ring.
- Men's little fingers are usually similar in size to women's ring fingers.
Measure her finger when she falls asleep
This could be your chance if you like adrenaline or if none of the above methods worked.
- Prepare all the necessary tools, wait for your partner to fall asleep, gather your courage, and go for it. You will need a piece of paper or string.
- Once you are sure your loved one is asleep, take a piece of string and wrap it around the base of her finger.
- It should touch her skin but should not be too tight.
- Mark the spot where the end overlaps the rest of the string.
- Once you do that, the hard part is over.
- Finally, use a ruler to measure how many millimeters the distance is from the end to the marked point.
- Now you have the exact finger size to help you choose the perfect piece of jewelry.
